Training Contract – Criminal Defence Trainee Solicitor
Location: City of London
Start Date: Immediate
Salary: £24,000 – £30,000 + police station overtime
We are a criminal defence specialist firm in the City of London, with additional expertise in Family Law and Civil Disputes. Our trainees gain exceptional experience in crime-focused practice with the possibility of developing transferable skills across our other departments.
This training contract offers:
- Criminal law focus
- Police station accreditation & regular duty solicitor work
- Magistrates’ and Crown Court case preparation
- Bail applications and sentencing hearings
- Direct advocacy experience
Key Responsibilities
- Police station attendance (including out-of-hours slots)
- Client interviews and case preparation
- Legal research and case management to assist fee earners
- Court documentation and hearings
- Legal aid compliance

Requirements
Law degree/GDL + LPC/SQE
Commitment to criminal defence work
